Author Stalker: Rebecca Ross {Author of The Queen's Rising}

Have you read The Queen's Rising by Rebecca Ross yet? Here's a quick summary that will make you want to read it and get to know her too:

When her seventeenth summer solstice arrives, Brienna desires only two things: to master her passion and to be chosen by a patron.

Growing up in the southern Kingdom of Valenia at the renowned Magnalia House should have prepared her for such a life. While some are born with an innate talent for one of the five passions—art, music, dramatics, wit, and knowledge—Brienna struggled to find hers until she belatedly chose to study knowledge. However, despite all her preparations, Brienna’s greatest fear comes true—the solstice does not go according to plan and she is left without a patron.

Months later, her life takes an unexpected turn when a disgraced lord offers her patronage. Suspicious of his intent, and with no other choices, she accepts. But there is much more to his story, and Brienna soon discovers that he has sought her out for his own vengeful gain. For there is a dangerous plot being planned to overthrow the king of Maevana—the archrival kingdom of Valenia—and restore the rightful queen, and her magic, to the northern throne. And others are involved—some closer to Brienna than she realizes.

With war brewing between the two lands, Brienna must choose whose side she will remain loyal to—passion or blood. Because a queen is destined to rise and lead the battle to reclaim the crown. The ultimate decision Brienna must determine is: Who will be that queen?

I loved The Queen’s Rising so much that I couldn’t wait to ask the author, Rebecca Ross, all about it! I sent some of my questions about her book to the LitJoy Book Club (join here!), including questions about the romance and more!

Author Stalker: Megan Shepherd {Author of Grim Lovelies} and Her Writing Farm

I don’t know about you, but I love hearing about where an author creates their stories. Even before I became an author myself, I have always been fascinated with how these characters and worlds are put together. We got to snag Megan Shepherd this last week. She is the author of the amazing Grim Lovelies, LitJoy Crate’s book pick for last month’s Dark Fairtale Crate.
Grim Lovelies, has a FRESH TAKE ON FAIRYTALES. Set in the glittering streets of Paris, Grim Lovelies takes the stories of childhood fairytales to dark and dazzling lengths, where four enchanted creatures must risk love, magic, and betrayal to stay human before the clock strikes twelve.
In the video below, the author herself takes us on a tour of her adorable house and the cute little cottage she writes in, as well as her “reality” of where she mostly writes! Check it out:
Isn’t Megan Shepherd adorable? And her cottage is so perfect. We might have to have her do another tour in the spring and summer so we can see her magical herb garden!
Speaking of magic, have you seen the LitJoy Exclusive book jacket for Grim Lovelies?

Here’s a peek at the LitJoy Exclusive cover! Check out the full one here where you can order a signed copy of the book too!
I can’t wait to hear what you thought of the book! Feel free to comment below or message me on Facebook or Instagram and tell me what you think of the book.
